My Approach

My mission is to empower you to rise up, out from under the pressure of diet culture, into a healed, balanced and restored relationship with food and your body.

I am a client-centered, weight-inclusive, non-diet dietitian. This means that I believe my clients are the only experts of their body, and I wholeheartedly reject the idea that weight is synonymous with worth and health. I believe that ALL bodies are deserving of respect and worthy of taking up space. In a society that is quick to tell us how our bodies should look, we will rise up with respect, self-compassion, and grace for the bodies we’ve been given. Additionally, I believe in evidence-based practice, which shows that diets don’t work. As such, I use the framework and principles of Intuitive Eating to guide you back to your own innate knowledge of your body as well as what it needs. This includes making peace with food, re-engaging in hunger and fullness cues, eating for satisfaction, and understand your bodies needs with gentle nutrition.

My Values

Respect: For all people and all bodies. I will treat your feelings and needs with the honor they deserve, and acknowledge the strength this work requires.

Integrity: I will hold myself to the highest standard in order to be an ethical, responsible and consistent clinician.

Self-compassion: I will practice and support you in practicing self-kindness, common humanity and mindfulness.

Inclusivity: All people are wanted and welcome here just as you are. I will work to acknowledge my own biases, and I strive to create a safe space for you to share your lived experience.

Nourished: I will honor my own bodies needs and encourage you to do the same.

Grace: With ourselves and with each other. Less than perfection is more than enough.

Uniquely made on purpose: Your body will be treated with the respect and kindness it deserves. I will honor the whole person.

Permission: Freedom to make decisions that are right for you, to ask for what you need, have feelings and take up space.

As a clinician, I promise to treat each client as I would want to be treated. I will let my values lead my work to ensure that each client receives the best care possible.
